Police Destroy Evidence And Pervert The Course Of Justice

Days before Mr Ahmad's civil action was due to start, the Met offered him £60,000 but with no admission of liability. Had he accepted, none of the abuse evidence would have been aired.......... The police tried to keep evidence out of court in other ways. Many of the officers involved in the arrest refused to give statements or testify. The police commissioner could have ordered them to appear, but didn't [ so he is guilty too - Editor ]. Other evidence simply, er, went walkies. Mr Ahmad's lawyers asked for the arresting officers' notebooks but these "disappeared". They also asked for six cassettes of interview tapes with one officer. These disappeared too. Mr Ahmad's lawyers also won a court order for the police to produce evidence of other complaints against the arresting officers. The police promised "several large mail sacks" in response, but these disappeared while being driven in from Hendon.

London Police Kill Again
