local by-election conducted in London was on March 20 at Gooshays in

challenge for the BNP. Far from it. Its share of the vote went up
from 28 per cent to 38 per cent. The Liberal Democrats, for the
record, managed the singularly strange feat of finishing sixth.
The main
constraint on the BNP in London is how well it can stretch its
limited resources. It won 4.8 per cent of the assembly vote in 2004
even with UKIP in the frame. If it can win anything close to double
that this time, then regardless of whether it is Mayor Ken or Mayor
Boris, it will be the BNP that provides the shock of this
election.

denied that any of the victims died outside the mosque. In fact, six

not speaking about the siege on Gaza, the starvation imposed on it
and the killing of hundreds of its people, Europe's leaders are not
meeting their political and moral obligations.

plea agreement, he faces up to 33 months in prison and would pay back

Merkel
condemns Qassams, but ignores Israel's wrongdoing

But her joint session with Olmert's government was a show of complete
and unequivocal support for its policies. Threatening Israel's

Anyone unaware of where Merkel was speaking (Jerusalem) would
never have known it is a city where a third of its citizens have been

"painful concessions" from both sides in the name of peace.
Olmert has used this term as well.
She rightfully described
the Qassam rocket fire on Sderot as a crime, but did not say a word
about repeated human rights abuses in the West Bank, the bombing of
residential areas in Gaza or the settlements. Olmert was caught on
camera telling Merkel that all the construction workers building a
house in front of his residence are Arabs, and the chancellor gave a
concerned nod in return.

Judge In The Frame For Fraud And Breach Of Trust

Mark-Horenczyk is suspected of
having improper ties with lawyer Gad Frankel. She allegedly received
various favours and benefits from Frankel: For instance, he
reportedly sold her an apartment at a reduced price and provided her
with personal financial guarantees as part of the sale......... Last
August, Frankel was indicted for fraud, forgery, bouncing checks,
theft and other charges. Among these charges is an accusation that
Frankel abused his position as a receiver in four different cases to
steal assets worth millions during 2004-5.
There have been two
other recent cases involving judges suspected of criminal acts. Judge
Osnat Alon-Laufer from the Be'er Sheva Family Court was convicted of
ordering a wire tap of her partner, who she suspected of cheating on
her. She was fined NIS 10,000 and received a six-month suspended
sentence. Judge Hila Cohen of the Administrative Court in Haifa was
removed after forging court records of hearings that never took
place.
