Declaration of Independence

The American Declaration of Independence from England was the beginning of a great nation. Perhaps it would have been great anyway. It would certainly have been different. The words mattered to Americans then and now. They are just as important and just as valid for us in England and for anyone oppressed by a corrupt government.

Right of the People to Alter or to Abolish Bad Government

War is dangerous and expensive. Revolution ditto. It may be necessary. His Majesty's Government chose to disarm us in 1920 so that they could keep power. Now that they are enemy we need to disarm them.

A great many states now begin to do a great many things counter to Washington’s wishes. I think it wise to keep resistance within the framework of the Constitution, but the entire question comes down to a blunt truth: No law extends beyond the lawmaker’s power to enforce it. Congress can pass a law against gravitation, but can’t prevent things from falling when released from a height. The federal government made alcohol illegal but, in the face of massive public disregard, couldn’t make it stick.

Bill states the law and gives the reasons; reasons which are just valid now as they ever were.

 

The crime is committed where a person knows that treason is being planned or committed and does not report it as soon as he can to a justice of the peace or other authority. The offender does not need to consent to the treason; mere knowledge is enough. Failure to report treason used to itself be treason at common law, but a statute passed by the parliament of 1554-1555 created a new offence of misprision of treason, which was a non-capital felony.
